I research gender in agricultural systems around the world
My name is Cathy Rozel Farnworth and I research gender in agricultural systems. My work takes me to East and Southern Africa, South Asia and South-East Asia, and parts of Central and West Asia. Over the past twenty years I have worked with a wide range of development actors, ranging from the World Bank to CIMMYT to Oxfam. I conduct field research, prepare reports and practical guides, and write articles for peer-reviewed journals. My qualifications are a PhD in Rural Development Studies (University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden), an MA (Distinction) in Gender Analysis in Development (University of East Anglia, UK) and a Diploma in the Management of Change, and I speak German.
